Polishing the Pulpit is a premier event for members of the church of Christ each year. Encouragement and training for everyone from new convert to elder, youth worker to senior leader, men and women, teachers, preachers–simply everyone!–is packaged in a week of incredible fellowship with Christians from around the world. It is the BEST way to spend a few days in August each year.

Since its inception, preachers who attend PTP have had the opportunity to participate in a sermon swap. I give you my 5 sermon outlines; you give me a CD of everyone’s outlines is the idea. Well, this year, PTP is expanding the swap idea to the ladies. What do we get to swap? you ask. So glad you asked. Here it is…are you ready for it? Our swap is bulletin board ideas!

So often, we have to struggle to come up with another bulletin board. The one(s) in the lobby, the one(s) in our classrooms, the one(s) down the hall, every board cries out for a fresh idea regularly! Since ideally, a more public board would be changed monthly and a classroom board  at least quarterly, that’s a lot of ideas to generate each year. And we all know we don’t live in an ideal world!

PTP bulletin board swap to the rescue! Here’s how it works:

1. Take digital pictures of your bulletin boards for the next few months. (If you can’t take a digital picture, we will accept a drawing as well.) Please keep your files a reasonable size; under 1MB apiece is a good benchmark.

2. Include as many details as you have available: size of the board, size and type of lettering, source of artwork, etc. Sending patterns of anything you can greatly increases the value of your submission!

3. Bulletin boards can be any theme, any purpose within the scope of what is appropriate for church use.

4. Submit up to 5 photos (or drawings) to ptpswap@bibleclassworkshop.com by July 31.

5. Stay to the end of PTP and receive a CD of all the bulletin boards submitted! (If you can’t stay to the end, purchase options will be available.)

Ok, ladies, we have planned the work. Now it’s up to you to work the plan. Start taking those pictures and submitting them right away. PTP has given us this opportunity. Let’s show them just what a blessing this will be!
